THE MAJOR EVENT IN SERBIA DEDICATED TO THE INFRASTRUCTURE SECTOR CONFERENCE-’’THE ROAD TO SMART INFRASTRUCTURE’’

The annual regional infrastructure Conference organized by FIDIC, ACES and EFCA was held for the first time in Serbia on March 9-10th in Belgrade and gathered a large number of consulting engineering companies, contractors, FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers), ACES (Association of Consulting Engineers of Serbia) and EFCA (European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations) members, in-house lawyers from Construction Companies, architects, governmental entities involved in Procurement, as well as financial institutions working for the development of infrastructure, all around the world. FIDIC, the Federation of International Consulting Engineers, was founded in 1913 and represents the engineering and consulting industry globally. The Federation’s main aims are to implement the consulting engineering industry’s strategic goals on behalf of its 103 national Member Associations. Lecture at Faculty of law, University of Belgrade“ When in doubt, that no one guilty should be found innocent”

As continuance of long term sucesful cooperation with Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, our office is on invitation from Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade is organizing lecture on March 27th 2017 at 3,20 p.m. Amphitheater VI. The Lecture will be held by Mr. Jugoslav Tintor, partner in Baklaja Igric Tintor law office with topic “When in doubt, that no one guilty should be found innocent”. Cases from lecturer’s court practice will be presented to the students. Lecture is prepared in a form of a workshop, with active participation from students in the discussion, in order to tackle basic issues and problems in criminal procedures, from prospective of defence attorney.

Overhauling the construction permitting regime in Serbia

Our colegue Djordje Vukotic, acting as Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure for Construction Permits Reform and Cadastre Reform is actively engaged in the regulatory reform of the real estate sector in Serbia. Under a joint program of World Bank and Internation Finance Corporation on December 14th, 2016. he held a presentation Overhauling the construction permitting regime in Serbia – hear from the practitioners – Based on oficial WB data, reform reflected in the Doing Business Dealing with Construction Permits indicator, were Serbia leapfrogged to the 36th place globally in 2017, improving from 152nd a year earlier. The Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia

The new Law on Chambers of Commerce (“Official Gazette of RS” no. 112/2015), provides for a formation of a single arbitration institution within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, which has jurisdiction to decide in commercial disputes between domestic and / or foreign commercial entities, if it has been agreed on by the parties. As of 30 June 2016, the Rules of the Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration (“Official Gazette of the RS” No. 2 / 2014) entered into force, by which two independent arbitration institutions that existed at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia: the Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, are replaced by the Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
