Djordje is a highly experienced corporate, commercial and real estate lawyer with over 20 years of dedicated professional service in Serbia and the countries in the region. He has represented a number of foreign and domestic companies, providing legal assistance in their investments in Serbia, as well as advising the Serbian Government in the process of defining policy, proposing practical solutions and is actively engaged in the legal drafting of commercial and corporate laws, financial laws, foreign investments laws and privatization laws. Djordje also participated in the process of setting up and the operation of the Serbian Business Registers Agency as a relevant registry of companies, associations, pledges and leasing.
Djordje has vast experience in the organization and delivery of a series of training courses in Serbia (2005-2015): Implementation of the Law on Planning and Construction – training for investors and state and local administration (2015); Implementation of the New Company Law – training for companies, judges, etc (2011-2012); RIA, regulatory reform and “regulatory guillotine” – training for government officials in Serbia (2005-2011).
Djordje is a Founder of the Balkan Centre for Regulatory Reform (Deputy President of the Management Board), member of the East-West Bridge, Vice-Chair for the CEE region of the Basel Convention Implementation and Compliance Committee and Associate of NALED. He actively participated in preparing quarterly reports regarding the status of the regulatory reforms in Serbia and annual recommendations for improving the legal framework for business.
